ABOUT THE DVUA, INC.

DVUA was founded by Walt Johnson in 1945.

DVUA membership has grown to include more than 150 umpires serving greater Mercer County schools (public, parochial and prep from middle school to varsity level) for baseball and softball.

DVUA has a strong training program for umpires including cadet classes and umpires trained professionally whose input is used to train and encourage new officials. A provisional program for 2nd year umpires has been established and has been very successful for continuing training.

DVUA encourages and takes pride in advancement of new and younger umpires to the varsity level of play.

DVUA utilizes a unique hands-on evaluation process during which a senior umpire works with a new or younger umpire in real game situations. Through observation, evaluation and on field adjustments this process results in increased umpires qualified for varsity levels of play.

DVUA is respected and recognized by athletic directors, the NJSIAA and is in fact one of the most respected organizations in the State of New Jersey.

DVUA provides members with its Annual Policy & Guidelines Statement | Click Here to visit our "Home Page" to download and view it.
